The Exploratory Marks International Day of Women and Girls in Science with Twellium Ghana and Diaspora Girls SHS

The Exploratory, in partnership with Twellium Ghana Limited, on Wednesday, 11th February 2026, marked this year’s International Day of Women and Girls in Science by organising a STEM empowerment program at Diaspora Girls Senior High School in the Eastern Region.

Held under the theme, “Motivating Girls to Get Involved in STEM Education to Close the Gender Gap,” the program sought to inspire and encourage girls to pursue careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). The event featured a career guidance session facilitated by professionals from Twellium Ghana Limited and an exhibition during which students showcased projects developed through the practical application of scientific concepts.

The Headmistress of the school commended The Exploratory and Twellium Ghana Limited for their continued support and urged students not to fear science-related fields but to believe in their potential and explore opportunities in STEM. The CEO of The Exploratory, Mr Christian Sackey-Acquah, added that, the initiative formed part of the organisation’s ongoing efforts to inspire young girls to develop interest in STEM education and help bridge the gender gap in science and technology fields. He further indicated that The Exploratory intends to collaborate with the school management to establish a vibrant robotics club in the school.

The event partners donated ten Xplo Arduino Starter kits to the school to support practical science education and strengthen students’ interest in STEM.
