Key Personnel

Dr. Connie Chow Founder
A PhD scientist, educator, human rights advocate and social innovator, Connie is passionate about creating a more joyful, equitable world where people can live up to their full potential. Before formally launching The Exploratory in 2016, she was the Executive Director of Science Club for Girls (SCFG), between 2006 and 2014. Dr. Chow is a Fellow and Board Member of the Massachusetts Academy of Sciences, an advisor to the MetroNorth STEM Network, co-founder of the Boston Area Girls STEM Collaborative and the co-chair of the Diversity Subcommittee of the MA Governor’s STEM Council.
Christian Sackey-Acquah Programs Manager
Christian combines his leadership skills, experience in program management and background in development communication to create community amongst and between students, teachers and our supporters. He holds an MA in Communication Studies from the University of Ghana, Legon.
Priscilla Awuah Administrator
Meticulous and detail-oriented, Priscilla works diligently to ensure the team has what they need to provide the best experience for the people we serve. Priscilla holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from the University of Ghana, Legon.
Saviour Okine Associate Programs Manager
Saviour is our Scientist-in Residence and leads the team in designing and implementing STEM training and programs in our partner schools. Saviour graduated with honors with a bachelors of science degree in Agriculture from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Kumasi, Ghana.
Eugene Affoh Gyampoh Curriculum and Training Officer
With extensive experience in engineering and robotics, Eugene coordinates and facilitates specialized STEM training programs for teachers and students at the Exploratory STEM Center. He holds a Btech. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the Koforidua Technical University.
Favour Amponsah Program Consultant
Favour brings her experience in managing coding programs, expertise in organizational management and passion for gender related issues to create a collaborative tech savvy culture in our partner schools. She holds an MPhil in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from the University of Ghana
Mustapha Salifu Ayana Program Consultant
Mustapha complements the team with his rich experience in education technology and STEM curriculum development. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Physics from the University of Education, Winneba.
Nelly Wilson Administrative Assistant
Nelly is passionate about empowering girls through STEM. She oversees logistics and provides essential support to our core team. She is an aspiring electrical engineer.
Meet Our Leadership

Board Members

Derick Sedenkor
Derick Sedenkor is a STEM enthusiast and a practicing scientist. He holds a master’s degree from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Cape Coast, Ghana, both in Environmental Science. He is a recipient of the Pan African University Scholarship and a YALI West Africa Fellow. Currently, he works as Senior Health Planner with the Christian Health Association of Ghana. Mr. Sedenkor is passionate about voluntary work, student mentoring, water sanitation and hygiene, public health, environmental issues and concerned about the education of the next generation.
Priscilla Jeffery
Ms. Priscilla Jeffery taught in rural and urban public schools in the US for many years and has served on a number of non-profit boards, including two school boards. She graduated with a BS in Education from Wheelock College, has an MS in Community Economic Development from Southern New Hampshire University and a certificate in Microenterprise Development from the Carsey Institute. Priscilla is the Founder and President of the Rural Education Advocacy Project – Ghana, one of the key partners of The Exploratory. REAP Ghana and The Exploratory are currently collaborating on a STEM program for basic schools in Nsawam.
Maxwell Samuel Yamoah
Mr. Yamoah is currently the Director of Integration and Training at Dext Technology Limited, a Ghanaian hardware company that develops tools to enhance the teaching and learning of STEM. He has rich experience in STEM curriculum development and teacher training. As a STEM enthusiast, he is well-versed in the implementation of STEM projects in diverse environments. Mr. Yamoah is a staunch advocate for girls and women in STEM. Currently, he serves as an educational and STEM career consultant, developing STEM curricula for basic and secondary levels of education.
Adjei Anthony Yeboah
Mr. Adjei is a professional teacher with over two decades of teaching experience. He is currently a School Improvement Support Officer (SISO) at the Nsawam-Adoagyir District Education Directorate. Mr. Adjei is an ardent advocate of The Exploratory’s work in Nsawam. He recently supported The Exploratory to implement a financial literacy program which impacted over 600 students and 50 educators in 6 public basic schools in Nsawam.
Priscilla Awuah
Priscilla holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a minor in Sociology from the University of Ghana. She is currently the Administrator at The Exploratory, where she oversees operations to ensure the smooth execution of programs aimed at promoting practical STEM education. Prior to joining The Exploratory, Priscilla served as an Administrator at St. Patrick Solo Clinic, where she initiated a performance management process, and logistics management and supply systems to control inventory. Priscilla is passionate about community development and hopes to contribute her skills to enhance The Exploratory’s impact on the communities they serve.
