Hello everyone, I’m Susana Asigre, a level 400 Journalism student at the University of Media, Arts and Communication-Institute of Journalism (UniMAC-IJ). Growing up in a small village in the Upper East region, I understand the challenges of limited access to resources. I had to go through basic education without proper facilities and opportunities which children my age in the big cities enjoyed. Though I managed to make it through to the tertiary, I wouldn’t want any child to go through what I went through.
I believe education is the game changer because it has changed my life by exposing me to greater opportunities outside the confines of my community, and I believe it can do the same for others. I’m passionate about impacting lives and spreading positivity.

As an intern with The Exploratory and REAP Ghana, I’m excited to contribute to their mission and learn from their experiences. My goal is to develop strong storytelling skills and create impactful content that resonates with diverse audiences. I’m drawn to these organizations because of their commitment to empowering young people and promoting education in deprived communities which aligns with my values.
I’m looking forward to learning from experienced professionals, gaining hands-on experience, and applying the theoretical knowledge I have gathered from school in real-world settings. I’m also excited to work with children and communities, sharing my passion for education and positive change.
I’m grateful for the opportunity to grow and serve. Through this internship, I hope to not only gain valuable skills but also make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. I’m excited to be part of The Exploratory and REAP Ghana’s journey and look forward to sharing my experiences with the rest of the world.
